Billings, freshmen stepping up at WR

Trooper Taylor promised all summer that players who didn't practice during the spring would get the first chance in fall camp.

That was good news for freshmen DeAngelo Benton and Emory Blake, and even senior Montez Billings, who missed spring practice with an academic issue.

Taylor said all of them have played well, but none of them have displaced Terrell Zachery or Darvin Adams as the two leaders through the first week of fall.

After Monday's practice, Taylor said those two would be the first players he looked to if the season started today.
