Freshman DE an early standout

For freshman defensive end Nosa Eguae, playing immediately isn't imperative. It is, however, on his agenda.

"I'm not saying I have to, but for me, that's one of my goals," Eguae said. "I've set goals for myself since I was in like sixth grade, so I'm just trying to go out there and get better every day and if God wants me on the field on Sept. 5, I'll be on the field."

Eguae's certainly not the only person hoping he's ready to play immediately. Defensive line coach Tracy Rocker knows he doesn't have much depth in his first year coaching on the Plains.

During the first two days of practice, Eguae has made a favorable impression on Rocker.
