Rivals250 defensive tackle sees attention growing
In the last few months George Uko has gone from a little-known defensive tackle from Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo to one of the nation's most popular defensive line recruits. When SoonerScoop.com caught up with the 6-foot-4, 280-pound Uko in late April he had roughly a dozen offers from a mixed bag of programs, including one from the Sooners.
In early July he has offers from nearly every major program in the country and is climbing his way towards Rivals.com's top 10 defensive tackles.
So what has caused this sudden explosion in not only prestige but recruiting attention?
"Basically its just people are starting to see me, getting my name out there, and people seeing me," Uko said. "I've been to the Nike camp, the Rising Stars camp, and then I went to the UCLA day-camp."
