Southlake (Tx.) Carroll cornerback Kacy Rodgers summed up his visit to Georgia Tuesday with one simple word - amazing.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder spent the past 24 hours in Athens, arriving Monday afternoon before attending a marine science class with Georgia sophomore Brandon Boykin Tuesday morning prior to boarding a plane for Columbus, Ohio to check out Ohio State.
"The entire visit was great," Rodgers said. "I got to hang out with several of the players who took me around, got to see the campus, the facilities and met with Coach (Mark) Richt. It was just a great visit."
Well, according to Rodgers, it was good enough to keep the Bulldogs in his top five, along with (in no particular order), Florida, Miami, Georgia, Ohio State and Notre Dame, all of which have given standing written offers.
"I'm still looking to commit sometimes in July," Rodgers said. "I'm ready to get all this (recruiting) behind me so I won't have to worry about it anymore and focus on the year I have ahead of me."
Although Rodgers is not currently ranked by Rivals.com as his film has just now being circulated, he holds offers from a host of different schools, including Tennessee, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.
Rodgers said that several aspects about his visit to Georgia stood out.
"It's the whole campus, the people there," he said. "Getting the chance to sit in the classes was really an eye-opener for me. To see the interaction that went on was something that really appealed to me."
Rodgers said he also met with Bulldog receiver A.J. Green and tight end Aron White.
"This whole visit really solidified what I already felt about Georgia," he said. "It's a great school in every way."
