Sleeper QB starting to emerge
With Dan Mullen's resume of producing top notch talent at quarterback there are sure to be a long list of quarterbacks vying to play in his offense.
One such quarterback is Cherokee County (Ala.)'s Coty Blanchard who visited Mississippi State during their Maroon-White spring game a couple of weeks ago.
"I went down there and I loved their campus," Blanchard said. "They seem like they have a great football atmosphere. I went to their baseball game and that was awesome too. My dad is friends with a big Mississippi State fan from down there and they work together so we had a great time."
The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder liked what he saw from Mullen's spread offense during the scrimmage and came away impressed with the quarterbacks in particular.
"I really like their offense," Blanchard said. "I like the way their quarterbacks throw the ball and run that spread. It was nice how they did it. They run a lot of stuff that we try to do at my high school."
Blanchard has an early offer from Jacksonville State but is also receiving interest from several other schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Samford and Troy.
