Robinson still has more to think about
As time progresses for Eagle Lake (Fla.) Lake Region defensive back Marvin Robinson, one of the most sought after safeties in the country, things were supposed to get a little simpler.
That, however, turned out to not be the case, as Robinson has added a few more schools to his already hefty list of possibilities.
Even so, the No. 99 ranked player in the Rivals100 is enjoying the process.
"Things are going really good right now," said Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior. "I added Alabama and Georgia to the top of the list."
The list Robinson is talking about is the top six schools he says he is considering at the moment. Robinson, rated as a four-star recruit, previously announced a top four that consisted of Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina, and South Florida before Alabama and Georgia joined the list.
Robinson, who has been considered a Michigan favorite for quite some time, plans on visiting Ann Arbor for the Wolverines' spring game April 11.
"I am going to go up there and look at the type of defense they run and how everything is up there," Robinson said of his Michigan visit.
While Robinson won't deny his excitement and enthusiasm he has for Michigan's program, he will refute any statement that says his commitment to the Wolverines is a done deal.
"The list of six schools that I had are all even," Robinson said. "It still is pretty wide open right now."
Instead, Robinson said he is committed on getting more familiar with the other schools he is interested in, and that includes Ohio State.
Robinson keeps in steady contact with Ohio State cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson, who has built it pretty strong relationship with the defensive back.
"He e-mails me quite a bit," Robinson said. "I e-mail him back and we talk about how things are going and when I am planning on going back up there. Basically all the general stuff."
Robinson did say he is planning on making another trip up to Columbus before he makes a commitment.
"I am not sure about their spring game, but I am planning on going back up because my mom also wants to go," Robinson said. "Last time I went it was just me and my dad, so my mom wants to go up too we are all going to go sometime."
Robinson wasn't sure if he was going to make it up to North Carolina, but he did say he also wants to visit Georgia and Alabama.
Though it may seem like Robinson has plenty of deciding to do, and the defensive back admittedly said he is having some issues narrowing it down, he did say when he hopes to make a commitment.
"I want to make my commitment sometime in the middle of my senior year," Robinson said. "I am trying to graduate early and enrolling at the college I pick early."
