McCay ready for big year

When you ask Justin McCay what kind of player he is, the wide receiver out of Bishop Miege (KS) gives a succinct, but firm, answer.

"Explosive."

When you ask Bishop Miege football coach and religion teacher Tim Grunhard to describe his star player, he's a bit more verbose.

"Obviously, all the attention and accolades Justin is getting are well-deserved," Grunhard said. "He's got all the skills and talent in the world to go on and compete in the next level."

The attention McCay is getting is blatant. With over 20 scholarship offers already, McCay's suitors include the Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Missouri - a veritable "who's who" list of the rich and powerful of college football.

And that's just a fraction of it.

But, Grunhard said, the attention McCay is receiving is not just a testament to the type of player he is on Friday nights. It's a tribute to what he's been through, and overcome, off the field.
