Three-star WR could commit this weekend

In the last week, Mississippi State has made a play for three-star wide receiver Mardrecas Hood.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder got a verbal offer from the Bulldogs last Thursday and will visit the Starkville campus this weekend.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to it," Hood said about his visit. "First of all I'm going to go over there and see what the vibe is like and how their coaching staff is. I want to see how their school campus is. This will be my first time coming to Starkville so I guess that's why I am so excited."

The 45-minute trip from his home in Reform, Ala., will be the only visit Hood has taken. The reason for his lack of visits was simple according to him.

"I haven't taken any visits because the two teams I wanted to go to were close to home in Mississippi State and Alabama," Hood said.

Hood picked up an early verbal offer from the Crimson Tide but eventually it fell through. Now with an offer from MSU on the table helps the Bulldogs chances of landing his commitment over the weekend.
