View: OU gives A&M blueprint for success
Sometimes we see the guy dating the best looking girl in class and wonder why that can't be us. We sometimes see someone wearing those expensive clothes or driving that fancy sports car or going on that great vacation and wonder why that can't be us. Saturday, Texas A&M fans saw Oklahoma and asked, "Why we can't play like that?"
The Sooners represent the game plan and the goal as to what the Aggies want to be. Remember that Bob Stoops and company arrived in 1999, won a National Championship in 2000 and have contended ever since. So it's not a project that takes decades to accomplish. Granted the Sooners had more in their cupboard when Stoops arrived, but all that means is that it might take Mike Sherman an extra year or two to get those types of players to Aggieland.
Those type players are why Oklahoma won the game and won it very handily. Oklahoma was bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic, deeper, healthier and more experienced at almost every position. So when they came in focused and played well, they controlled the game and its outcome. There was nothing the Aggies (nor any previous opponent except Texas) could have done about it.
