Rudolph's role continues to expand

After two games, the Fighting Irish were 2-0, but an old, familiar refrain back from the Lou Holtz days could be heard echoing through Notre Dame Stadium.

Why aren't they throwing to the tight end?


Ah, but it was only a decoy, the unfolding of an offensive plan, the evolution of a package that eventually would incorporate the tight end in the passing game. It was a plan that would take advantage of a guy with wide receiver skills in a tight end's body.
