Davis returns to Athens, where he has ties

0ne of the top football players in the state of Georgia is Jonathan Davis out of Tucker High School. He delivers huge hits, he makes plays all over the field, and he pound for pound may be the best player in the state. This top athlete was invited to Athens Saturday and he paid UGA a visit.

"Yeah, Georgia has been showing more interest lately," said Davis after he left Athens at halftime Saturday due to homecoming at school. "They have been sending me letters, they have called the school, and they have talked to my dad."

Davis knows Athens pretty well. His cousin Mitch Davis signed with Georgia out of Alabama and went on to have a very successful career between the hedges before playing in the NFL.

The 5-foot-9, 205 pound athlete grew up hearing about UGA football. He has always had interest in the home-state school, but how much interest do they have in him?

"I am not sure really sure if they are close to offering me or not. I have talked to Coach [Franklin] Stephens (Tucker Head Coach) about it and he really didn't know."

"I have offers from Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, UAB, UCF, South Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Boston College, and now Miami. I know I have offers from those schools, so I am still waiting to see who else offers."
