Cross still wideopen, looking at the Sooners

With few spaces left in Oklahoma's recruiting class few positions have more possibilities to play out than defensive line. One player who the Sooners offered long ago and continue to recruit is Flowery Branch, Ga. three-star strongside defensive end Izaan Cross. The 6-foot-3, 253-pound pass rusher has been working hard to start his team to a 4-1 record but inevitably gets caught up in recruiting.

Flowery Branch is off to a solid start after suffering a loss in their first game of the season, t's hard to point the finger in Cross's direction, even if most opposing coaches are focusing their attention on the team's star defensive lineman.

"We are 4-1 right now, we lost our first game by three, we got back and won the last four though. I've got three and a half sacks, and about 45 tackles, and two pass break-ups," Cross said. "I've been getting cut and double-teamed a lot and last week I got both the whole game. I had sprained my ankle in that one so I was kind of running with a limp this week.

"Teams are rolling away from me, we've been playing teams that run a lot and they've stayed away from me."
