RB Wright looks to visit Iowa State

Clermont (Fla.) East Ridge running back Jeremy Wright has spent this week preparing for his team's opening game of the season on Friday, but he has also been spending evenings on the phone with college coaches. One of those schools the 5-foot-9, 183-pound Wright talked to this week was Iowa State.

"I talked to Coach (Robert) McFarland and Coach (Scott) Fountain," Wright reported. "I've been keeping up with them all summer."

Coaches from West Virginia and Western Michigan also got in touch with Wright this week. His talk with the Cyclones, however, brought about the first stages of setting up an official visit to Ames for later this fall.

"I'm going to give them a call back and try to come on one of the next home games," Wright reported. "So far they are pretty high, but I am just trying to get a visit to make sure."

Wright said his father will accompany him on the official visit to Iowa State when it does occur and they will be particularly interested in seeing the educational programs offered by the school as well as the campus. One area of Iowa State's program the two-star running back is already sold on is the coaching staff.
