Outing at Rose Bowl a success

UCLA had a semi dress rehearsal yesterday (Saturday August 23rd) at the Rose Bowl as the clock ticks ever closer to opening day. Bruin head coach Rick Neuheisel was pleased with the comeback of the offensive side of the ball after a tough outing on Friday. After the outing, Neuheisel held a teleconference with the media to discuss his team and the passing of Bruin great, Frank Cornish.

Neuheisel: "It was an uneventful day here at the Rose Bowl, but we did get a lot of work done and we feel better about ourselves going into the weekend.

"We went ones against twos on both sides of the ball probably for three series somewhere between 15 and 20 plays on both sides of the ball then the threes scrimmaged against each other for probably another 15 plays.

"We got some live reps from special teams, which were beneficial for us and then we did some two minute thud stuff where we didn't take people to the ground, but worked the clock and managed stuff and it was also a good day for the coaches in terms of getting used to the headphones here at the Rose Bowl.

"It was a productive day."
