Beavs march into week three of fall camp

The Beavers came sluggish during Monday afternoon's practice at Reser Stadium. That is, except, quarterback Lyle Moevao. The junior continued his strong play this fall with a nearly flawless performance during the portion of practice I watched. Only one of his passes fell incomplete and that was due to a spectacular pass breakup by Keenan Lewis.

Other than that, Moevao was on target to everyone everywhere on the field. It's safe to say him and Sammie Stroughter have established the kind of connection the standout receiver had with Matt Moore during his breakout 2006 campaign. Moevao looked for Stroughter often on Monday and got him the ball at ease, despite the best efforts of Lewis and Tim Clark. More impressive was Moevao's touch on his passes, which was a weakness last season. His quick slant passes to James Rodgers and Shane Morales showed how much he's improved in that area. He also zipped in a few passes to Howard Croom which prove he has much stronger than most people give him credit for. Overall, Moevao seems primed for a breakout season.
