Coach's Corner featuring Carlton Thomas

Who can tell you more about who you will be cheering for in the coming years better than the prospect's head coach? We put together a short question and answer segment asking the coaches questions about their former star recruits and future Georgia Bulldogs. The prospect featured in this edition of the Coach's Corner is athlete Carlton Thomas out of Frostproof (Fla.).

Frostproof Head Coach Brad Metheny took the time to answer the following questions about Harmon.

Tell us about Thomas' play last year.

"Carlton was an awful special player for us and he ended up with almost 2,400 yards rushing, he had 25 touchdowns, and he was a big reason why we made it to the final four in the state of Florida. He is just a great kid to have on and off the field. He brings leadership to the field, in the weight room, and he brought a lot of athleticism and ability each game."

How has he improved while you have been coaching him?

"He has matured over the past couple of years. He has learned when to put his head down, when to run inside or outside, and he just plays a smart game. He was so valuable to us throughout his career where he had over 6,600 yards rushing, so him being smart and knowing when he needs to get out of bounds showed a lot of maturity. He is a physical kid even though he is smaller in stature, but he plays bigger than he is. He likes contact, so him just improving, getting smarter, and maturing meant a lot to us."

"That would be one thing, but he also works extremely hard in the weight room. He has really been the leader for us the last two years in the weight room and I also don't think you will anyone in our community that would say a negative thing about Carlton. He is a first class kid, on and off the field."
