Bonugli still on Frogs radar

Much of the buzz around San Antonio Warren this recruiting season has surfaced around Rivals 250 defensive tackle Calvin Howell. Now that Howell has announced his plans to attend Texas, his good friend safety Joseph Bonugli appears to be the main attraction.

Bonugli recently picked up his first three offers from Colorado State, Army, and SMU. Other big time programs are showing the all-district performer increased interest.

"I got my first offer from Colorado State, Army was second, and SMU was third," he said. "I'm getting interest from Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Kansas, Kansas State, and TCU. The Houston and Rice coach have come by my school as well as the coach from OSU and the Tech coach came by and talked to me."

Bonugli says at this point he doesn't have a clear leader but hopes to narrow things down during the summer.

"I don't really have a favorite," he said. "I think by the time the first half of summer rolls around I'll probably narrow things down a little bit. I still have a lot rolling in right now."

One team that Bonugli continues to have an interest in is TCU(he attended the spring game). It appears the feeling is mutual as the Frogs continue to pursue the hard-hitting safety.

"I'm actually going up there on June 6th for a camp," he said. "They're still showing interest and there definitely up there on the list."

In addition to the camp at TCU, Bonugli has others that he plans on seeing in the near future.

"I also got a special invitation to attend the Texas camp on June 8th," he said. "After that I plan on going to OSU and then to the Tech camp. Those are the ones that I have planned so far."
