Getting to know Taylor Hart
The Oregon Ducks found a player partly because of the great game of golf. Taylor Hart(6'6, 245, 4.7) from Tualitin High school found his way to the Ducks along a different path than most recruits. "My dad went to Bend, Oregon to a golf tournament, and coach Bellotti was there. My dad of course thought I was a good football player so he asked coach Bellotti if he could give him a film of me playing, and to evaluate me. He told coach Bellotti to be brutally honest about my chance to play for the Ducks or other D1 teams. A couple of months went by and low and behold Coach Bellotti offered me a scholarship on April 2, and I accepted it on April 4."
There were other teams sending Taylor letters such as Washington, Washington State, and Oregon State. "No one else had offered me a scholarship. I have gotten a lot of letters but no scholarship offers until Oregon told me they wanted me to be part of the team. I'm a huge Duck fan and I want to stay in the Northwest. I like cold weather and rain. I go to a lot of Duck games and it seems like a great extension of what I'm already doing. I love to hunt and fish, and Eugene definitely allows me to keep doing those activities."
