Coach's Corner featuring A.J. Green
Who can tell you more about who you will be cheering for in the coming years better than the prospect's head coach? We put together a short question and answer segment asking the coaches questions about their former star recruits and future Georgia Bulldogs. The prospect featured in this edition of the Coach's Corner is five-star wide receiver A.J. Green out of Summerville, South Carolina.
Legendary Summerville Head Coach John McKissick took the time to answer the following questions about Green.
Tell us about how A.J. Green played this year.
"I have been coaching for 56 years and he is the best athlete I have ever had on offense, defense or special teams. He is a remarkable player and can do anything. He returned a total of nine punts this season and four of them were for touchdowns. He caught over 80 passes for over 1,500 yards and scored another 24 touchdowns. Only special players can do things like that. He had another great season."
How has he improved while you have been coaching him?
"He has been a big player for us for all four years, but he has picked up little concepts along the way. Little things about the offense or about the receiver position are things he has learned. He is a quick learner too - we did not have to tell him or show him more than once. He is a real good student of the game, he recognizes the coverages and he knows what he is doing. He saw every coverage you could imagine thrown at him and that is going to help him at Georgia."
