Spartan players talk NCAA on Selection Sunday
EAST LANSING - When Drew Neitzel and the Spartans made a run to the senior captain's freshman season Michigan State was a No. 5 seed. Three years later, Michigan State is a fifth-seeded team in the NCAA tournament and according to Neitzel there are some similarities between this year's team and the team he started on as a true freshman point guard.
Raymar Morgan didn't have the butterflies he had as a true freshman when he was sitting in the player's lounge watching the selection Sunday show on CBS yesterday afternoon. But Morgan still has the since of excitement he experienced during Michigan State's build up to the NCAA tournament one year ago.
Kalin Lucas experienced March Magic in high school at Orchard Lake St. Mary's. The freshman point guard was outstanding in the post-season for the Eaglets, whom he carried on his shoulders to the state finals as a junior. March has always been a special time for Lucas, but now he is preparing to experience March Madness for the first time.
Travis Walton knows how important guard play is in the NCAA Tournament.
Quality play in the backcourt is as important as leadership and Walton believes he can provide both.
