Mississippi WR gets Ole Miss offer
With a receiving corps that will largely being entering its third year this fall, wide receiver is an area that Ole Miss will look to build depth and for the future with the 2009 recruiting class.
The new Rebel football staff is yet to offer a lot of prospects in Mississippi thus far, but one prospect who has picked up an offer is Macon (Noxubee County) wide receiver Pat Patterson.
"I got an offer from Ole Miss a couple of weeks ago," Patterson said on Sunday night. "They faxed it to my school."
It's not difficult to figure out why Patterson picked up an early offer from the Rebels. He is a 6-foot-3, 212 pound prospect with 4.6 speed who had 70 catches last season for 1,424 yards.
In addition to the Ole Miss offer, he also has offers from Mississippi State and Southern Miss. He's also getting interest from Alabama, Michigan and Clemson.
He attended junior day at State earlier and plans to visit Ole Miss on Apr. 5.
Patterson plans on camping at Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss and perhaps Alabama. He attended summer camp last year at Ole Miss.
Patterson claims no favorites and said he didn't grow up a fan of any particular school.
Patterson recently received the results of his ACT, scoring a 16, one point shy of the required score of 17 to qualify. He said his GPA is now at 3.3.
