Video: Five-Star Signee in Action
One of the two talented wide receivers that Georgia signed in 2008 is five-star A.J. Green. Green is one of the premier receivers in the country and many expect him to contribute the minute he steps on the UGA campus. We captured some video of Green in his final high school game as Summerville fell to Byrnes in the State Championship.
Green is a 6-foot-4, 194-pound receiver that has been compared to Randy Moss by more than one expert.
He makes things look easy on the football field and will only get better in Athens. His long arms, flexibility, shiftiness, body control, quickness, and hands made him one of the top targets in the country over the last few years.
The Bulldogs offered him early (10th grade) like many other National programs and UGA picked up his commitment in October of 2006. He never once wavered even though schools continued to recruit him up until Signing Day 2008.
Now, he has signed his letter of intent, he has faxed it to Athens, he is officially a Bulldog, and the buzz has started about what he will do inside Sanford Stadium in 2008.
He had to finish out his high school career before beginning one at UGA and we were there to cover his final game. His QB had a tough day against Byrnes and did not get the ball to Green as much as many thought he should have, but you still see just why Green is thought so highly of.
Between cramps and overthrown passes, the long, fluid receiver made plays that shows his talents. Check out this Dawg in action right here.
