UA coaches excited about Brandon Jennings

When it comes to Brandon Jennings, everyone has their own opinion. Many feel as if he's hands down the best player in the 2008 class, while critics have argued that he needs to improve his mindset before he'll find success as a basketball player.

While most praise for Jennings is somewhere in-between - ranks him 8th in the 2008 class - you can be sure that the UA coaching staff is thrilled to land the 6-foot-0, 170-pound Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy point guard.

Kevin O'Neill watched Jennings play in Las Vegas this summer, when the five-star prospect was en route to his second straight Reebok Big Time championship. He was happy with the player that the Wildcats had landed in May.

"Brandon Jennings is a phenomenal talent," O'Neill said. "He's a basketball junkie and a guy that is extremely gifted with the basketball. He makes everyone around him better, he can score in bunches and has the mentality that he can put a team on his shoulders and lead you to victory."

The rest of the UA coaching staff has been following Jennings since he was a freshman in high school and has always made the point guard a big target.

"His speed, his quickness and his athleticism are second to none to any player in the country," said Miles Simon. "The thing that really stands out about Brandon on his high school team at Oak Hill is his passing ability.
