Pac-Tending Plus

With a bye week to rest, Oregon remained in control of the Pac-10 race while both USC and Arizona State stayed immediately behind them in the Pac-10 standings, hoping to vie for a possible additional BCS bowl game berth should Oregon be brought into the national championship game. CougZone takes you on a whirlwind tour of what's going through the minds of the conference's coaches as the season continues.

Mike Bellotti - Oregon

Personnel - None.

Quote - "I don't have a lot of trust in that regard." [re: Oregon's history with the BCS].

Other Stuff - Says the Thursday night game is beneficial because they had a bye week before it and quarterback Dennis Dixon has not changed his play despite being a Heisman Trophy contender.

Jim Harbaugh - Stanford

Personnel - Offensive lineman Tim Mattran will be able to play next week against Notre Dame and receiver Richard Sherman has been reinstated.

Quote - "All the emphasis will be on who gives us the best chances to win." [re: playing different players now that Stanford is out of bowl game contention]

Other Stuff - Says they will not necessarily play players who haven't played much yet this season despite being out of bowl contention.

Mike Stoops - Arizona

Personnel - None.
