Edelman out for season

Kent State's chances of climbing back into the Mid-American Conference East Division championship race went from slim to none after Bowling Green ran all over the Golden Flashes' defense in a 31-20 victory at Dix Stadium.

As if a third-consecutive loss wasn't a hard enough pill for Kent State head coach Doug Martin to swallow, but now he'll play the rest of the season without starting quarterback Julian Edelman.

"He's got a broken arm and he'll be gone for the season," said Martin about his junior quarterback, who left the game with under three minutes to play after picking up eight of his 104 rushing yards.

After being tackled at the Kent State 40-yard line, Edelman headed for the sidelines but fell to the turf holding his right arm. Wide receiver Darren Rogers replaced him and later he gave way to third-string quarterback Jon Brown.
