Video: Utica Ford's Anthes on Chris McDonald

UTICA, Mich. - SpartanMag.com recently sat down with Utica Ford head coach Jay Anthes to discuss the play of his team and his star player and Michigan State commitment Chris McDonald.

The No. 14 ranked player in Michigan for 2008 by SpartanMag.com, McDonald is the anchor on both the offensive and defensive line for Anthes.

The Falcons have are two wins away from a berth in the 2007 MHSAA Playoffs after a 4-2 start thanks to strong play on both sides of the football.

Anthes has moved McDonald around on his defensive line to get the most production out of the future Spartan playmaker. On offense, McDonald has moved from playing tight end one year ago to the offensive tackle position after adding quality weight during the past year.

McDonald, says Anthes, is up to 265 pounds as a senior two-way starter.

The highlight video above is from Utica Ford's 3-0 win over powerhouse Sterling Heights Stevenson. Ford's two losses have come against a pair of in-state heavyweights Mount Clemens Chippewa Valley and defending state champion Macomb Dakota.

Tonight Ford tries to move within a game of a playoff bid when they face off against arch-rival Utica Eisenhower.
