One of the prospects expected to be in the Autzen Stadium stands this Saturday for the big Oregon-Cal game was Long Beach (Calif.) Poly safety Vaughn Telemaque. However, the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder told Duck Sports Authority that he will be unable to make the trip due to logistical issues.
"I talked to 'coach DP' - coach (Don) Pellum - and he said to get me out there for the pre-game and to get a good feeling for Oregon, they didn't have a plane ticket out for me to get out there early enough," said Telemaque. "I don't think I'll get to go to that game, which is unfortunate."
Telemaque and his teammate defensive tackle Jurrell Casey were supposed to make the trip together, but it sounds like both prospects will need to reschedule for a later date.
"The only other way was to head out and fly from Palm Springs airport and I'm not going to do that," he said. "They want us to get a feeling for Oregon, the pre-game and all of the routines of going to the game, and we couldn't do that because they said we'd be just in time to even make the game if not late. I don't want to be late to the game, because I want to get a feeling for how Oregon is."
