Thomas is set for official visit to UGA
The University of Georgia is in need of running backs and one of their targets in 2008 will be taking his official visit to Athens this weekend. Carlton Thomas of Frostproof (Fla.) is ready to get back to Georgia.
"This will be my second official visit when I go up to Georgia," said Thomas. "I visited Notre Dame earlier and I am ready to visit Georgia now."
Thomas visited Athens earlier in the summer and he liked what he saw. The Dawgs have been in his top group ever since and he is excited to get back to the classic city again.
"I was there when school was out and not too much was going on the first time. I toured the campus, talked with the coaches and all that before, but I am ready to see what it is like on game-day at Georgia now."
"I want to see what the fans are like, what kind of support they give their team, how the coaches are and how the players are to be around at that time. I just want to get a feel for the team and see how I feel at Georgia."
He is not really sure what to expect, but he is ready to find out what Athens is about.
"I really have not heard a lot about a game-day at Georgia down here where I am at," the 5-foot-6, 159-pound back admitted. "I have heard a few little things, but I just want to see it for myself. I expect the fans to be loud, for the team to be intense and for it to be a great atmosphere."
