UCLA gains some redemption

UCLA rebounded from the embarrassing loss to Utah with a solid effort beating the Washington Huskies 44-31. It was a game that that was going to say a lot about the character of the coaches and players alike. The way the rain was pouring down yesterday you couldn't blame UCLA for perhaps feeling a little snake bit since rain is common place in Seattle where the Huskies are from.

UCLA had to battle through injuries and possibly a little doubt after the Utah debacle.

The Bruins came out and played with a lot of heart. They overcame a lot of sloppy play and even some bizarre plays. The Michael Norris off the hat while the ball was live was enough to make one think the Bruins were snake bit.

UCLA made a ton of mistakes and because they did the game was closer than it should have been. The Bruins committed 10 penalties for 88 yards and many came at the worst of times negating good plays.

With Patrick Cowan lining up behind center the Bruins went on a 71 yards drive on their first position that started at the UCLA five yard line. The Bruins ended up coming up empty after Kai Forbath missed a 42 yard field goal.
