Homan already starting to shine

What has been the biggest difference for Homan between playing high school ball at Coldwater and stepping up to the national college football scene at Ohio State?

"The preparation," Homan said. "Not only watching more film but how you watch film. In high school you could just go out there and play but here you have to watch film and you have to know the game instead of just being able to play it."

Homan played in all 13 games a year ago as a freshman. He was 10th on the team with 28 total tackles and ninth on the team with 15 solo tackles. He recorded two tackles-for-loss, a 13-yard sack and an interception against this week's opponent Northwestern.

This season Homan has been alternating series with junior Marcus Freeman at Will linebacker on the outside. Despite splitting time, he is fifth on the team with 12 tackles - including six solo stops and two tackles-for-loss.

"Mentally it's just a huge difference from last year," Homan said. "I'm more comfortable, I know the defense more and I know the concepts more so I can just relax and play."
