Florida State at CU Game Notes/Quotes

BOULDER, Colo. - Below are notes and quotes from the Buffaloes' game against Florida State. The lack of a running game made it difficult for Colorado's offense to move the chains. The Buffs fell to the Seminoles, 16-6.

*** Just shy of a sellout, the announced attendance was 52,951. It was the largest crowd at Folsom Field since the 2005 finale against Nebraska.

*** CU Athletic Director Mike Bohn on the crowd: "In one word, terrific. Or electric. We salute the student passion and their efforts to bring a great environment to the game, and it's a big part of building success and tradition. The blackout was a success, and not only the students but seemingly everyone answered the call to be in their seat by the time Ralphie took the field."

*** Tailback Brian Lockridge and wide receiver Josh Smith both made their college debut on Saturday night. They join wide receiver Kendrick Celestine and walk-on kicker Tyler Cope as the only true freshmen to see action for CU so far this season.

Lockridge gained just two yards on four carries, while Smith caught two passes for 40 yards.

"Josh did good," quarterback Cody Hawkins said when asked about Smith's performance after the game. "He's a funny guy, he always wants the ball and he is always giving 110 percent. He brings a lot of energy and a lot of playmaking ability. I think down the road, as he grows, you will see defenses key on him a little bit because of the ability he has."
