Video: Davis is ready to emerge

A prospect that we expect to emerge this fall in Georgia is Tucker's Jonathan Davis. Davis is similar to 2007 Georgia signee Rennie Curran in the way of being smaller in height, but a powerful player that makes plays. Davis will play linebacker and running back this year and we give you an exclusive first look at this class of 2009 athlete inside.

Prospect: Jonathan Davis

High School: Tucker (Tucker, Ga.)

Class: 2009

Position: Linebacker / Running Back

Vitals: 5-9, 205-pounds, 4.55

Favorites: Open, but has early interest in Alabama, FSU, Georgia, LSU and Miami.

The Skinny: Davis may only be 5-feet, 9-inches tall, but he plays bigger. He is a prospect that was all over the field last year for St. Pius as he led them to the state semi-finals. He has now moved to Tucker where he will get the chance to play sideline to sideline from his middle linebacker position.

He delivers powerful hits and he really attacks the football. His play has been compared to Auburn's Tray Blackmon and Georgia's Rennie Curran. Like Curran, Davis is a little undersized, but you can not coach his instincts that take him directly to the football. As a sophomore, Davis had 198-tackles and 998-yards rushing.

We traveled over to Tucker earlier this summer as he went through practice. He did some agility drills, showed how he attacked the football and you get a feel for his athleticism.
