Fall camp: Offensive grades

With just twelve days remaining before Appalachian State's opening day in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Mountaineers are getting closer and closer to being in game shape. Questions still remain in terms of the depth chart, but for the most part ASU has figured out what it will take to the field come September 1. The only thing left to do at this point is start preparations for the Michigan Wolverines.

Despite the loss of William Mayfield, Jeremy Robertson, Daniel Bettis and Matt Isenhour, the offense returns pretty much intact. With the majority of the team's playmakers back and ready to go, ASU has high hopes for its offense in 2007. With that in mind, Mountaineer Illustrated takes a look at the offense's progression to this point in the preseason.

QUARTERBACKS

Last season, the Mountaineers watched as a star was born in the form of then freshman Armanti Edwards. Now, with a year under his belt, Edwards returns to lead his team to what he hopes is another SoCon title and national championship. For many, the fact that Edwards was a freshman last season is often lost in translation thanks to the outstanding performance he put together in '06.
