Defense dominates Thursday practice
As the UA draws closer to the end of Fall Camp and the beginning of its 2007 campaign, practices continue to be intense and, up to this point, somewhat evenly matched between the offense and defense.
That all went out the window at practice Thursday as the defense completely dominated 11-on-11's.
Before delving into that, though, there were a few notable moments during drills.
Redshirt freshman punter Keenyn Crier sent multiple kicks sailing around 60 yards in the air downfield with great hang time. All indications are that he will be more than a serviceable replacement for Nick Folk.
Another notable moment happened during running play drills when freshman tight end Rob Gronkowski displayed some blocking prowess, pancaking redshirt freshman defensive end D'Aundre Reed.
After drills, 7-on-7's went well for the offense, with junior Willie Tuitama and senior Kris Heavner taking all of the reps.
