Sun Devils get work in post-scrimmage

There were several funny and interesting developments that took place in Sunday's post-scrimmage workout, which was shorted by nearly 45 minutes. Arizona State coaches were managing the injuries of several additional players, and yet still found a way to have a productive practice, which featured a fair amount of 11-on-11 action.

  • After tweaking his right calf muscle during Saturday's scrimmage, senior wideout Rudy Burgess did not practice with the team but remained active on Sunday. Burgess aggressively rode an exercise bike while his teammates were in shells, and then made a serious fashion statement towards the end of practice. Sporting a large metal-linked chain around his shoulder, Burgess looked like "Rudy the Barbarian." Not to worry, fans still recognized Burgess. A man dressed in ASU gear said to Rudy, "Thanks for single-handedly winning us that Sun Bowl." Burgess laughed, thanked the fan and shook his hand. When asked about his over-sized bling, Burgess said he wears the chain while doing sit-ups, pushups and plyometrics.
