Brown Stays Popular

Ocean Springs (Miss.) wide receiver DeAndre Brown is trying to keep a low profile but when Florida coach Urban Meyer, LSU's Les Miles, Alabama coach Nick Saban and Auburn head man Tommy Tuberville visit your high school in the spring, staying out of the spotlight might be harder than expected.

"It's crazy because we're such a small town," Brown said. "I was walking through the halls and people were like, 'Is that really Urban Meyer?' My own coach couldn't believe it. But I just try to worry about school and football and not have a superstar ego."

Brown, a 6-foot-6, 208-pound prospect, is rated by Rivals.com as the seventh-best wide receiver and No. 44 player overall in the 2008 class. He is the top-rated prospect in Mississippi and has a top four of Florida and LSU followed by Alabama and Auburn.
