Camper making a return trip
Last week, Michigan held its annual summer camp, and played host to talent from around the nation. Standing in at 6-5, 215 pounds, Tuscola (Ill.) star John Wienke was the top quarterback in attendance, demonstrating a great combination of size, accuracy, and arm strength.
While Michigan signed Ryan Mallett last year, the quarterback position remains an area of need for the recruiting class. The transfer of backup signal caller Jason Forcier has left the Wolverines short on numbers at the position, and with Mallett likely to see action as a true freshman, a quarterback in the class of 2008 could redshirt and potentially start for two years.
