Mustain and McKnight

Five-star tailback Joe McKnight shocked his home state of Louisiana when he decided to head west and attend USC.

McKnight has now shocked his new teammates by arriving on campus several weeks ahead of schedule.

Under normal circumstances incoming freshmen arrive on campus in late June, a few weeks after graduating from high school. Once they arrive the players are permitted to join the team for "voluntary" summer workouts and begin their indoctrination to Trojan football.

McKnight's decided to begin his USC career a bit early, apparently after being fed up with some local fans that did not appreciate his shun of Louisiana State University.

After arriving on Wednesday, Joe jumped in head first by attending the 7 AM Thursday workout. Before he even had a chance to shake his jetlag, McKnight was sporting cleats and running around the practice field under Coach Carlisle's direction.

To start things off, Carlisle introduced the kid who needed no introduction to about 40 other football players who chose to attend the early morning workout.
