Positions matter most in Battles' recruitment
IU has been in this situation before, recruiting a talented and athletic quarterback who has been told by most other schools that his position at the college level is somewhere other than under center.
That kid - Kellen Lewis - turned into a starting QB and a freshman All-American, after racking up a total of 2,221 yards and 19 touchdowns last year.
So when Sal Battles, a dual-threat quarterback out of Youngstown, Ohio, says Indiana is the only school recruiting him as a signal-caller it should come as no surprise.
Battles, like Lewis, is athletic and has been told his future is at a number of other positions at the next level. Out of his top three schools - Michigan State, Ohio State and Indiana - the Hoosiers are the only program that want him as a QB.
