DeSoto spring game showcases top talent

The stars were out last night at DeSoto High School's spring game, as were the college coaches.

They were lining up on the sidelines and in the pressbox to watch Cyrus Gray, Tony Jerod, Adrian Bushell and some very talented underclassmen in a matchup of offense versus defense.

The first team offense featured Gray in a blue jersey signifying that no contact with him was allowed, since he's now the starting quarterback. He had a difficult time running the ball since he was whistled down every time he was touched. However, he still managed to run 50 yards for a touchdown.

Gray had at last two or three runs where he broke into the clear only to have someone grab at his ankle or handful of jersey and have a coach whistle the play dead. In addition, he has vastly improved his passing ability and showed a nice touch on his downfield throws.
