Countdown: Key Wolverine No. 23

The staff has voted upon, selected and ranked the top 25 Michigan football players most essential to a winning effort in 2007. We continue the countdown of the top 25 in reverse order, moving on to No. 23.

The talk about Obi Ezeh began during bowl practices. The then-true freshman out of Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School kept getting mentions - not just from his classmates, but from veteran defenders such as LaMarr Woodley and David Harris.

Furthermore, defensive coordinator Ron English noted Ezeh as someone who stood out in the pre-bowl workouts. His play as a linebacker grabbed shouted for a closer look, although with the veterans Michigan featured in the lineup, that look was destined to come down the road.
