Big offensive tackle on Spartan's radar

When it comes to offensive tackle prospects, they do not come much bigger than Chuck Porcelli of Montini Catholic High School in Lombard, Illinois. Porcelli attended a Rivals.com junior day seminar earlier this spring and measured in at 6-foot-8, 285-pounds.

Michigan State will graduate three linemen after the 2007 season, Mike Gyetvai, John Masters and Peter Clifford. For that reason, the staff will likely look to sign at least three quality prospects for the incoming class of 2008. We caught up with Porcelli last night and he updated us on his recruitment.

Monday was the first day that the Spartan staff was on the road and Porcelli's primary recruiter is offensive line coach Dan Roushar. The fact that Coach Roushar stopped into Porcelli's high school on the first day is sure a sign that the staff definitely wants to have him on campus later this summer.

Porcelli has been busy checking out school this spring. Some schools like Northern Illinois and Toledo have already offered him. Other schools are still in the evaluation phase.
