2007 Class Spotlight -- Dequan Bembry

Hawkinsville (GA) cornerback Dequan Bembry (5-foot-10, 178 pounds, 4.5 seconds) was a late steal by Marshall. Bembry who originally committed to Auburn, later re-opened his recruitment and ultimately signed with the Herd. The dynamic standout plays with a mean-streak not often found in cornerbacks and his explosive athleticism also could lead to additional duties on special teams in both coverage and the return game.

Signing Day has come and gone. How are things going?

Bembry - "Things are going really well. I am in the best shape of my life and my speed is something that I have really focused on. I am doing the 100m and 200m in track right now. My personal bests this season is 10.9 seconds in the 100 and 22.7 in the 200. I am ready to get to Huntington."

When we last caught up with Bembry he had yet to receive the score he needed for NCAA eligibility. Where do things stand with regard to qualifying to play in the fall?
