Now or never
The way Austin Scott sees things, it's now or never.
After taking a redshirt for what would have been his senior year in 2006, Scott returns for his final go-round as a Nittany Lion in 2007.
There haven't been many good memories for Scott, the much-heralded running back from Parkland High School. After three seasons, he's barely eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for his career.
When he came to Penn State, many predicted that he would be the next big thing and would perhaps finish as the school's all-time leading rusher. Instead, he played second fiddle to Tony Hunt, who finished as the No. 2 rusher in Penn State history.
Now, it's Scott's show - and he knows it.
"I'm coming in focused," Scott said matter-of-factly during a conference call on Tuesday morning.
During his first three seasons in the Blue and White, Scott has amassed 1,021 yards on 221 carries, or 4.7 yards per crack. He's scored 10 touchdowns in three years.
