Texas flirting with another linebacker
When Mack Brown talked at his 2007 National Signing Day press conference, he spoke briefly about the positions at which Texas would need to load up for the 2008 recruiting season. One of the team's biggest needs was at linebacker, and Brown even mentioned that the staff would leave no stone unturned and there was a strong possibility the Texas coaches would look out of state.
Auburn, Ala., safety Dee Finley, a player that is already holding offers from some of the top programs in the Southeastern region, said this week that the Texas coaches have been in contact with his high school coach in an attempt to gauge Finley's interest.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Finley is being recruited by several schools to play safety, but the Longhorn coaches reportedly like him as a speedy linebacker prospects. Finley currently holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson and Louisville, to name but a few, and he's hoping Texas adds its name to the mix.
