Sooners get set for second major scrimmage
The Oklahoma Sooners moved inside on Friday due to major thunderstorms in the Oklahoma City area. After practice was over, there were also tornado scares all around the Norman area.
Plenty of commotion ensued following practice inside the Barry Switzer Center as players and coaches tried to get a gauge on whether any tornadoes were likely to touch down near campus.
But after the sirens subsided, players and coaches continued the business of football on a very busy weekend.
Oklahoma takes part in their second major scrimmage of the spring while they also host OU's coaches clinic over the weekend. Hundreds of coaches from high schools and small colleges have descended on Norman to talk with the OU coaching staff about how to improve their own football programs across the country.
"It's great to have guys here for a couple of days and build relationships," said Stoops of the special weekend. "We share a lot of ideas with them and we're just building relationships with them and making sure they get what they want and what they're looking for, that's the biggest thing."
