Out of State Notebook: Four to Watch for UA

The new Alabama football staff made quick inroads into the state of Mississippi upon its arrival in early 2007, securing the signing of one of the top fullback prospects in the southeast in Jeramie Griffin. The Tide is now targeting one of his South Panola teammates for 2008 as offensive guard Quin Sanford awaits word on an Alabama offer.

Sanford, who is a natural offensive guard with a 6-foot-3, 280-pound frame, has offers from Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Sanford earned Class 5A All-State offers as South Panola completed their amazing third undefeated and championship season in a row. With a road-grater, mauling style of play, Sanford helped paved the way for Griffin's 1,300 yards-plus and 19 touchdowns.
