Exclusive Video: Ward tests speed & agility

Some have questioned Georgia commitment Martin Ward's speed and quickness since they saw his video on He has great hips, great vision, and one of his biggest strengths is his cut back ability. We traveled over to Mt. Zion High School last week to test Ward in the forty-yard dash, short shuttle, and the 3-cone drill. Check out this exclusive video to see Ward's speed, hips, balance, feet, and explosiveness.

Prospect: Martin Ward

High School: Mt. Zion (Jonesboro, Ga.)

Class: 2008

Position: Running Back

Vitals: 5-11, 196-pounds

Offers: Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Favorites: Committed to Georgia

The Skinny: Ward is an all around running back. He may not wow you with anything specific on film, but he is more than average at a lot of things. He has great vision, great hips, he can stop and go, he catches the ball extremely well out of the backfield, he makes great cut backs, and he is just learning how to run the football. He is one of the top backs in a loaded state of Georgia in 2008.

Ward is just now learning the technique when it comes to running. He is learning how to explode, stay low to the ground, and he is putting in a lot of time to get better.

Mt. Zion Head Coach Jarrett Laws has been working with Ward and it has paid off. We knew he would excel in the short shuttle because of his hips, his ability to change direction, and how explosive his first step was, but we were not sure about his time in the forty-yard dash.

Ward showed us both that his hard work had paid off and he was faster than his head coach thought he would be. Watch Ward run the forty-yard dash three times, short shuttle twice, and the 3-cone drill twice inside this exclusive video feature.

You will not be disappointed.
