Another switch on D?

With the basketball season over, it's time to focus solely on spring football practice here at In fact, a big name re-joined the football squad today because of the end of that season. Read about that and more in Wednesday's spring practice report.

Mike Gundy said the Cowboys finished Wednesday's practice with a 40-play scrimmage that gave coaches their first chance to really see the team in action.

"We let them go full speed and tackle, throw and catch," Gundy said. "They really look forward to doing that. It was kind of a warm-up for Friday."

Friday's scrimmage will also be 40 plays, Gundy said, and will begin in the second half of practice.

Wednesday's practice was senior receiver Adarius Bowman's first time on a football field since Oklahoma State's win over Alabama in the Independence Bowl, but already, quarterback Bobby Reid said he's making his presence known.

"When (Bowman) first stepped on the field, it took him awhile to get in the flow," Reid said. "But being such a great athlete, he got right in the flow and guys started to respond positively to him. Guys were making a bunch of plays today and moving down the field."

Bowman, whose return was highlighted by a 60-yard touchdown reception, said he was glad to be back with the team.

"It felt good just to catch the ball again," Bowman said. "It felt a lot smaller the first time I caught it, but everything's back in place again."
