For former Husker players like Adam Carriker, Jay Moore, Brandon Jackson and Stewart Bradley, most of their NFL draft status was decided at last month's NFL combine in Indianapolis.

On Wednesday, Nebraska held their annual pro testing day at the Hawks Championship Indoor Facility. The pro day served as an opportunity for all of NU's draft eligible players to workout out in front of several NFL coaches and scouts one final time.

For tight end Matt Herian, Wednesday was his only chance to test and train in front of the NFL scouts. Herian wasn't invited to the combine and Wednesday was the first time he has ran a 40-yard dash since breaking his leg in October of 2004.

Herian weighed in at 242 pounds on Wednesday and he ran is his 40-yard dash in the low 4.7 second range. As a freshman, Herian said he ran a 4.67 second 40-yard dash weighing 220 pounds.

"That's close to one of my best times ever," Herian said. "My best time ever came when I was 220 pounds my freshman year. Weighing 20 pounds more and running close to that, I'm pretty happy."
